And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. (Isa 4:6)

It's Hot! and National Park #1

Last night after the chanukah candles went out my brother and I got to fiddling with the heater/furnace again, thinking it sure seems like it wants to work. We just could not get it to kick in once the pilot was lit. The funny thing was that upon putting the lighter flame near the pilot it would go out.
I kept saying, seems like a draft, but my scientist son said "no theres not enough oxygen." Then it occurred to us that perhaps the previous owner had covered the vent...a real duh moment when we removed a piece of sheet metal and found that the furnace worked awesome. It gets really hot. Yay, saves me $130 for a portable heater. This morning I got a valve on the propane tank replaced...$200 later but atleast it is safe ande not leaking, and doesn't feel so bad when Hashem blesses us with the furnace working! My son and I spent much of yesterday cleaning of old stickers from the entire RV with laquer thinner. After purchasing it we noticed that it had old sticky residue from stickers and that it was for a time a mobile doggy groomer. Unfortunately it has meant a bit of extra hair clean up in hidden places, however the rig really is in great condition for the year and has no leaks, it has a redone roof. It also has electric lifts and a few other bonuses. Today we also went to Lake Mohave, part of the Lake Mead National Park. We have spent a lot of time there this summer, mostly day use. We were blessed with the gift of a National parks passport book and we wanted to get a stamp before we hit the road to visit my princess. Unfortunately the visitor center was closed but we did have a nice time, just means we will have to come back or eventually go to Lake Mead as well. We hope to leave Sunday or Monday and will post as soon as we get to internet access.
Some fun pics of our day these are all in the main boat launch area, not the day beach....
