And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. (Isa 4:6)

Big Screen TV

Our First TV for the RV

This lil baby was on sale for $69 at Target. It is a DVD/TV with an 8 inch screen. My son is hopin to be able to hook his wi to it as well. if he does when we have better internet we may be able to use netflix on the road some. We really don't miss TV much as we didn't watch it much but it is nice to just gel and watch a movie that is honoring to Hashem or a teaching of some sort. This will also give us another option to play our music cd's and will do picture cd's as well. It also leaves the door open for educational videos for both of us students :)...and it is the perfect size for our lil mini house!

I See You

Bought my son a pair of  Barska Binoculars that were on sale at Big 5, $18 regular 79.99. I do not know much about binoculars but my brother has a similar pair and they were great so we decided to nab these while on sale. Unfortunately they had several other things we need (like a heater) on sale but we had to scrounge up the money for these. So thats ok Hashem provides in His timing for the other things. In the mean time He will have binoculars to look at the stars, bird watch, and just general views while we travel.

We were unable to get the propane heater to stay lit, fixed the leak but just won't stay lit, so my plan is to most likely buy a portable big buddy heater that can be used inside, because I know that I will not always have hookups, I already have a portable electric heater for when we do. And actually since this is our only vehicle it may be easier to camp without hookups. Right now I am battling a too cold fridge, during the 120- 130 summer it was not cold enough, lol. There is no food in it right now though, just running it to use up the propane so I can fix the leak on the regulator. Plus wanted to see how it would do in the winter.  I have removed all the fans and the fan outside is off, the fridge is on 1 and I taped up a bit of the vent with duck tape. Perhaps I will turn it off and let it warm then relight because at first I thougt it wasn't cold enough and had it set too high because lo and behold my thermometer was not working and it actually was freezing. I am just blesssed that it is working, I will get it figured out eventually. Excited to hit the road and see my princess soon.

Coleman Portable Blender

Coleman Portable Blender
Shalom all, I just bought this blender so we can continue to make our greens and frozen fruit smoothies on the road. I am an icecream junkie and so the fruit smoothies are a better option for my health and waistline and the greens are our main supplement option. This little baby is a Coleman recharable battery operated blender that has AC/DC option for charge and use. It may not have the power of a home blender and expecially a vita-mix but my goal was having us covered even while boondocking or without hookups, we will be using a lot of the national parks. I do not currently have an inverter that is greater than my little 200/400 Watt inverter so I can not handle a full blender without hookups. Inventually I hope to afford one but there are several other things that come first , like internet which will cost $150 for the device we want plus our monthly coverage. Little baby steps. We would also like to get a TV and dvd player at some point as well(mostly for educational purposes and occasional movies). For the time being we'll just learn how to live without so many modern conveniences and enjoy Abbas creation. This week we are working on the propane heater, as I could not get it to stay lit and found it was leaking, after getting some needed tools today... tomorrow we will take it apart clean it up and put it back together tightly and pray hard we can get it to work without any issues. If all goes well we will turn on the fridge and heater and do some cooking and try to use up the rest of the propane so when the tank is empty we can fix the seal in the propane valve. I's been quieter here lately outside so perhaps we can move on out to the RV without the neighborhood dogs driving us crazy. Lastnight my brother and my son fixed the porch light that was shorting out and I cleaned up under the kitchen sink preparing the area to cover the hole from the old plumbing. So we are slowly making progress. Excited to hit the road soon.

Got New Guts!

I know my titles are kinda corny but what are you supposed to call posts about such improper topics as waste tanks. ;-)
Just picked up the RV and the work is complete. The new tanks are in, some new drain pipes and new plumbing under the kitchen sink. Baruch Hashem for insurance coverage

The valve on the propane tank has a seal that needs to be replaced, but the tank is half full so have to wait until it is empty. They tightened it as much as they could so now it is just a tiny leak. Baruch Hashem again that I do not have to replace the whole part or the propane tank!
Now for the new back tires and rims next week...we might actually get out of BHC this year! : p to Ben!
